Joao Felix is believed to have had a falling out with his current boss, Diego Simeone. As a result, the 22-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Spanish capital and now faces an uphill battle to regain his place in the XI.
The striker has only made 12 appearances this season and has not been given a consistent run of games to find some rhythm. Consequently, he has been able to find the net only once this season and it is a worrying stat for the player and the club.
Having said that, Felix is said to be a player Pep Guardiola admires a lot and the Cityzens could be in the winter market to make a big-money move for him. This comes as per Fichajes.
Felix has also been linked with a move to Juventus and Barcelona but with the two clubs struggling financially, it is unlikely that they will be able to launch any substantial bid for Felix. Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in signing the player but the Bavarians are not known to spend such a big amount on a single player.
Manchester City can offer Felix the playtime that he currently lacks at the Wanda Metropolitano but it remains to be seen if City consider him as ‘high priority’.
With Erling Haaland’s €75 million release clause set to become active next summer, one can only assume that City will go all-out for him. Moreover, City are considered to be the frontrunners to sign the Borussia Dortmund hitman but with the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich in the race to sign the 21-year-old, one never knows.
Though Haaland will only cost €75 million, the entire operation could cost up to €120 million, taking into account the signing bonus and the agent commission.
Do you think Manchester City should go for Joao Felix or should they wait until the next summer to try for Erling Haaland?
