Manchester City have entered the transfer race for Pogoń Szczecin’s rising talent, Kacper Kozlowski, reports TVP Sport. (h/t Sport Witness)

Kacper Kozlowski, 18, regarded as one of Polish football’s brightest young talents, came up through the ranks of Pogoń Szczecin before getting promoted to the senior team in 2019. He enjoyed his breakthrough campaign with the Polish side last season, featuring 20 times in all competitions and scoring three goals.

The teenager’s fine displays at the heart of Pogoń Szczecin’s midfield saw him make his debut for Poland in March before he became the youngest ever player to feature in the European Championships. Kozlowski’s development at Stadion Miejski has not gone unnoticed, with Brighton also keen on his signature, reports TVP Sport. (h/t Sport Witness)

TVP Sport (h/t Sport Witness) claims Manchester City have scouted Kacper Kozlowski on several occasions this season. They are ‘tempted’ by the Polish youngster’s displays to such an extent that they are ready to splash over €10m to secure his signature next year.

The Sky Blues have seen the rise of young midfielder Phil Foden in the last 15-18 months while they also have Kevin de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri, Fernandinho and Cole Palmer as options in the middle of the park.

However, Fernandinho is out of contract at the end of the season and is likely to not renew terms with the club again, whereas De Bruyne has struggled for form and fitness this season. Fernandinho’s departure would leave a huge hole in Pep Guardiola’s squad, leaving just Gundogan, De Bruyne and Rodri as the only senior options in midfield.

Not to forget, both De Bruyne and Gundogan have entered their 30s, so adding someone like Kacper Kozlowski could make sense, especially considering he would add freshness and dynamism to the current crop of midfielders at the Etihad Stadium.

With Brighton also interested in Kozlowski, Guardiola and Man City will need to quickly act upon their rumoured interest and snap him up from Pogoń Szczecin in January.
