Manchester City reject Barcelona Supestar in swap for Ferran Torres!
By Harsha Movva
According to reports, Manchester City have rejected the chance to land Philippe Coutinho in Barcelona’s money plus a player proposal for the swoop of Ferran Torres which is likely to happen in the upcoming winter window.
The 21- year-old has been tipped to part ways with the Sky blues in early January with the negotiations between both the clubs reaching final stages, especially with the player’s personal interest of switching back to La-Liga to lead the Blaugrana line.
Ferran has been quite sensational in the limited opportunities he has earned by scoring twice and assisting once in a span of four matches for the Cityzens before sustaining a serious foot injury in the UEFA Nations League, effectively ruling him out for 3 months.
Having said that, the Spanish striker has found it difficult to break through into Pep’s starting XI on a consistent basis with the likes of Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling, and Gabriel Jesus getting the nod ahead of him since his arrival to the Premier League in the last summer from Valencia for €21M.
Manchester City are demanding €70M for their promising talent and Barcelona, given their financial position are negotiating the cost of operation to a price around £45M mark. The Catalans have even offered a few of their players, with Coutinho being the latest subject of discussion between the two clubs.
It is only going to get tougher for Ferran at the Etihad, with Manchester City in plans of landing either Harry Kane or Erling Haaland in the summer. Barca’s new boss, Xavi Hernandez’s ploy mainly revolves around wide wingers and Ferran would be a perfect fit for the bill.
Ferran Torres’ moves looks like an inevitable one, so, when is the move likely to occur?
Are Barca going to sacrifice any of their golden talents as part of the deal?
Let us know.
