The Ferran-Barca rumours are turning into substantial ones within the blink of an eye and with reports emerging from Spain that the deal between Manchester City and FC Barcelona regarding the Spanish striker, Ferran Torres ‘getting closer’ by each passing day.
According to reports, Ferran Torres’ days at the Eithad could be soon coming to an end with the Spaniard set to join the Catalans in early January.
Ferran Torres hasn’t been featured ever since City’s emphatic 6-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers in a Carabao Cup fixture after featuring on the scoresheet due to a foot injury.
The 21-year-old suffered a grave Foot injury at the UEFA Nations League, which ruled him out of action for three months after Spain eventually lost to World Champions France in a controversial 1-2 finale.
The forward though has been quite impressive with a G/A of three in his four appearances for the Sky blues in this edition of the Premier League. He was anticipated to make the striker position his own after Club legend Sergio Aguero called quits on his time in England to join Barcelona as a free agent.
The Spaniard though was a vital cog in City’s scintillating UCL stint in the previous season which almost held Guardiola’s men on the brink of history only to be denied by Chelsea on the final night.
However, Man City is demanding €70M for the promising talent and given the financial crisis Barca is facing, they have made an offer of around €45M especially owing to the player’s interest in leading the Barcelona attack coming into play.
Guardiola has always believed in players’ benefits and will not be an obstacle to the agreement, given the player’s desire to leave and it is only believed to be a matter of time before both the European Giants reach an agreement over the sale of the 21-year-old.
The fans are certainly disappointed to see Torres leave but this could be the big moment that someone like Cole Palmer and James McAtee could be waiting for, to gain an entry in Pep’s XI.
