Ferran Torres has been linked with a move to Barcelona and the rumors only seem to be getting stronger. Barcelona’s push for having a pure goal-scorer continues as they look to have Ferran Torres in their ranks.
The Spaniard has been tipped to leave Manchester City this winter and the two teams are said to be in the advanced stages of the potential deal. It is also understood that Torres has already agreed to a 5-year deal with the former La Liga champions, verbally.
Torres is liked by Barca boss Xavi Hernandez who is looking to make full use of his goal-scoring and dribbling ability. The legendary figure at the Camp Nou bases his gameplay on pure wingers and he has identified Torres as a good fit for his plans.
With Torres still out of action because of an injury that he sustained in the UEFA Nations cup, Pep Guardiola was asked about the rumors surrounding the Spaniard’s future at the Etihad, ahead of City’s tie with Aston Villa.
"The former Barcelona boss said:“You have to go to Txiki or the agent of Ferrán, or Barça, I’m not the guy to talk about it. We call some players from other clubs when we’re interested, so I can understand. I would prefer not but it is what it is”.Source: Twitter"
Manchester City have quoted Torres at €70 million and the final value of the deal is rumored to come down to €45 million, with 10% of it set to go to Valencia. The good relationship between Barcelona president Joan Laporta and Txiki Begiristain is said to be helping the Blaugrana’s cause.
It is understood that Barcelona will be allowed to pay the sum (which will be agreed upon) across 5 years, thus more or less removing their current financial woes out of the equation.
Do you want to see Ferran Torres at Manchester City or do you think it is time for the Cityzens to look beyond the Spaniard?
