Manchester City apprise Barcelona on ‘Ferran exit price’
By Harsha Movva
According to reports from The Mirror, Barcelona have been informed about the cost of operation to land the Spanish striker Ferran Torres from Manchester City in the winter window.
The fare would be around €70M plus bonus for the Catalans, with approx 10% of it going to his former club Valencia.
Manchester City have been at the helm of transfer rumors thus far regarding the recruitment of some phenomenal strikers like Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur and Erling Haaland from BVB Dortmund but vet few could sense a player of that aspect leaving the Etihad.
The 21-year-old was enjoying a stellar start to his 2021 campaign before being ruled out for three months with a foot injury, scoring twice and assisting on one occasion with the Sky blues and netting the ball four times in six matches for Spain at the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers.
The Spaniard was considered one for the future in the Centre forward position with City being restricted to very few options after Aguero’s departure.
The dream of leading Barcelona’s attack can get to anyone and Torres hasn’t been one-bit contrast to that.
Barcelona executives were in Manchester to hold talks with City over a potential transfer of Raheem Sterling. With the Cityzens in no mood to part ways with the Englishman, Torres became the main subject of the talks with Barcelona boss Xavi said to be a fan of the player.
Ferran is a versatile player who can switch positions in the attacking third. He can be as devastating as it gets in finishing and has the ability to blow away any opposition on a given day.
Sterling has been in the center of things off late and his transfer is far from happening at this point in time. The focus now shifts on the Ferran Torres move with the developments being made at a brisk rate.
Ferran Torres will have a re-start in January but where is it going to be for him?
Barcelona or Manchester City?
Let us know.
