Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is ready to let his star forward leave but only one one condition

Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has seen a major drop in minutes this term largely due to the arrival of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in the recent summer window. As a result, it has created problems for City’s no.7 as he has had to lose his place on the starting side and now, is open to an exit from the Etihad this season.
With the winter transfer window approaching, it has been speculated that Sterling would be open to shifting base in the middle of the season. The Euro 2020 star has reportedly received transfer interest from La Liga giants Barcelona and hence can soon switch sides in January.
However, a report from Manchester Evening News has claimed that City boss Pep Guardiola has set one condition on the Englishman’s exit. According to the Spaniard, the Sky Blues will let go of the forward only if the club can find a proper replacement for the player.
Sterling,26, has been one of the finest performers for the Cityzens in the last couple of years. The former Liverpool man is still considered an ‘asset’ for this star-studded City squad and is one of the most important players on Guardiola’s side.
Currently, the English international is contracted to stay at the Etihad till the summer of 2023. For now, it seems that the forward is not interested to see out his present agreement with his present cluband is inclined towards the idea of moving away from Manchester .
Manchester City, on the other hand, will try their best to retain the star forward as they lack the presence of a strong no.9. With Ferran Torres being sidelined till December, Sterling will certainly enter the fray for a full-fledged start in Guardiola’s starting eleven.
It remains to be seen whether the Sky Blues are interested to sell their star forward in the winter window. Therefore, Xavi-led Barcelona will definitely have to table a respectable offer if they are to increase their chances of extracting the prized forward from England.
