Rumor has it: City to launch another bid for Harry Kane this winter
One of the major talking points of the recently concluded winter window was the inability of Manchester Coty to convince Tottenham Hotspur to part ways with their main man in Harry Kane. Having said that, it is understood that the Cityzens are not through with their ambition of seeing Kane in the infamous Sky Blue colors.
As per ESPN, City are thinking about launching yet another strong bid for Harry Kane this winter and it will be to test the resolve of the Spurs who are currently struggling in the Premier League. Spurs’ struggles are largely due to the drying up of goals and Kane has found the net only once in the 10 PL outings.
It is believed that City are counting on Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, to change his stance on the exit of Harry Kane with another big-money offer. With Kane’s recent struggles, City do believe that it is the perfect time to table another offer for the Englishman.
With the appointment of Antonio Conte, there is some hope among the Tottenham ranks to finally grab some silverware but one can only wait and watch as with all due respect to the Lillywhites, they are far off from being the strongest side in any competition that they are currently a part of.
One of the major reasons why Harry Kane was believed to be looking for an exit this past summer was because of the ongoing trophy drought at Spurs but it remains to be seen if the striker is willing to play for some time under the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss before taking a definitive call on his future.
City’s pursuit of Kane last summer ended abruptly when the striker himself announced on Twitter that he would be staying at the club for the ongoing season.
Some pundits and sources still believe that City are through in their efforts to land the Englishman, given that Erling Haaland will be available next summer for only €75 million (though the entire operation could amount to €120 million).
Do you think City should go for Kane this winter or would the money involved in the ‘operation Kane’ be better spent for ‘operation Haaland’?
Do let us know.
