Manchester City enter the race to sign Premier League flop
By Aditya Kumar
According to recent reports from Fichajes, Manchester City have entered the race to sign one a Premier League forward, who has failed to leave a mark in the league as of now.
The player in question is Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette, a transfer target of West Ham United, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Newcastle United.
The 30-year old French international is now in his final year of contract at the Emirates and has decided that he will not extend with the London outfit.
The Frenchman joined Arsenal back in 2017 from Olympique Lyon for a then club-record fee. Hoping to achieve big heights here at the north London club, the striker’s time has been anything but successful.
He has scored 68 times and assisted 29 times in 179 appearances, but a lack of consistency has led to his downfall at the club. This has led to a reduction in his game time at the club.
Reports suggest that Lacazette has the qualities which suit Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side as he is not only a natural number 9 but also someone who is versatile, has a great work rate, and can link-up play with the other forward players around him.
Lacazettee also has a premier league experience of 5 years now and hence is accustomed to the tough physical requirements of the league.
Given that he can be snapped up for free, Pep Guardiola might be tempted to convince the Manchester City board to bring in the French striker at the end of this season.
Do you believe that Alexander Lacazette will be a good free transfer for Manchester City or should Manchester City continue their pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic and other strikers? Do you think despite his failed time at Arsenal, he can still redeem himself at Manchester City? Do let us know in the comments below what your thoughts are on this story.
