According to recent reports, Manchester City’s pursuit for Bundesliga club Borrusia Dortmund’s midfield prodigy Jude Bellingham took a hit yesterday.

Borussia Dortmund has become one of the premier league club’s favorite hunting grounds, with many recent stars choosing to go to England. This list includes Piere Emrick Aubameyang to Arsenal, Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City, Sokratis to Arsenal among others.

So it’s not surprising to see Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland being linked to clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

In an interview with BILD, Borussia Dortmund chief Micheal Zorc insisted that they have no plans to lose Jude Bellingham, who has been heavily linked with not only Manchester City, but also with Liverpool, in 2022.

Zorc told BILD,

“When we signed Jude last year, many top clubs were interested in him. He made a conscious decision in favor of BVB and the concept that we presented to him. His development in Dortmund is far from over.”

Indicating that even if Manchester City comes knocking, Borrusia Dortmund will hold their ground and keep the English man in Germany.

Talking about the youngster’s commitment to the club, Zorc added,

“His head is very clear and he has a very good environment that helps him to put his rapid development into perspective. That Jude is already showing such consistency in his achievements was not to be expected with his commitment.”

Joining Dortmund from his boyhood club Birmingham City for 23 million Euros in the summer of 2020, Bellingham has scored three times and set up six goals in 16 games this campaign, a major upgrade from his 4 goals and 4 assists in his previous 46 appearances.

While Dortmund have decided to play hardball, we know the kind of pulling power Pep Guardiola is capable of.

Do you think Manchester City should continue going after Jude Bellingham?
