Manchester City’s hopes of landing a striker of Aguero’s calibre, in the form of Erling Haaland have turned into yet another saga with the transfer rumour ebbing and flowing in recent times.

The latest developments are more looking promising for the Defending Champions, as the Bundesliga sensation has given clear indications of where he could be playing next year.

The 21-year-old who has been second to none in recent times is enjoying his stellar run at Borussia Dortmund scoring 70 goals in 69 matches with a G/A of 1 per match, ever since making a move from his former club RB Salzburg in January 2020.

His scintillating form grabbed the eyeballs of many European Giants across different leagues with Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Real Madrid looking firm favourites.

"Bayer CEO Carl Heinz Runmeniggie in a column in build stated that,"
"“I recently had an expresso with my ex-colleague Aki Watzke in Munich. He told me that he was very optimistic that Haaland would still play for Borussia Dortmund next season.”"

However, these words have been in a contrasting manner to what the Dortmund club believes.

In recent times the German Club Manager Watzke admitted that selling their Superstars to huge bids is a part and parcel of their Club’s business structure. Haaland would be no exception with the player expected to receive massive bids across the world especially from the English Clubs.

The Skyblues have been rather sloppy off-late with a string of losses coming thick and fast and the clubs penetrative ability, especially in the final third coming under the scanner.

With Guardiola’s False nine strategy becoming quite predictable lately, a formidable striker is the need of the hour for the Cityzens.

The wage demands of Haaland are going to be sky-high especially with his agent, Mino Raiola’s old school rivalry with City’s boss not helping their cause.

The Defending Champions have also made contacts with several other forwards, with the likes of Mikel Oyarzabal (Real Sociedad), Dusan Vlahovic (Fiorentina), Darwin Nunez (SL Benfica), being the substantial ones.

Though the situation is getting a bit too close to comfort for Manchester City, expect them to come up trumps and seal the deal for Erling Haaland which will change the whole dynamics of the Premier League.
