Manchester City put up another strong performance on Tuesday as they picked up an easy 5-1 win over  Club Brugge in their latest Champions League outing. After firing blanks against PSG, the Cityzens stitched up a strong performance in front of the goal as the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Joao Cancelo, Cole Palmer and Kyle Walker registered themselves on the scoresheet.

In their away clash against the Belgian side, the Sky Blues put their foot on the gas from the first minute of the game. Within the first 15 minutes, the visitors were able to put the ball back into the net, but both goals were canceled out due to offside.

City left-back Joao Cancelo broke the deadlock for his side after being set up by an excellent diagonal cross from Phil Foden, which was fired back into the net by the Portuguese international.

Guardiola’s side managed a second goal just before half-time as Mahrez scored from the spot after being brought down by Stanley N’Soki in the penalty box. For the hosts, there wasn’t much on offer in terms of their attacking third as the Belgian side failed to register a shot on target.

Kyle Walker continued City’s dominance in front of the goal as he added a third goal in the 53rd minute of the game. The goal-fest continued for the Sky Blues, with substitute Cole Palmer adding the fourth goal of the game, and also grabbing his first goal in a City shirt in the Champions League.

For Club Brugge, their only consolation came in the form of a goal from skipper Hans Vanaken. To finish things off in style,  Mahrez ended the game with a fifth goal for City in the process adding his second of the night.

Manchester City will be delighted with their performance against their Belgian opponents and will hope to continue this good run in their remaining group stage fixtures of the Champions League. The defending champions will now return to the Premier League and are facing Brighton on the 23rd.
