Pep Guardiola wants star to change his mind about Manchester City future
Manchester City, despite not having a proper number nine in their ranks have done well to challenge for the title thus far and are already being considered as one of the favourites to lift the Premier League title.
City are currently sitting third in the points table and are only two points behind the league leaders in Chelsea.
While the side-effects of City not possessing a top-class number nine or a finisher was pretty much evident in their loss to Paris Saint-Germain, the team has done well in England thus far.
Bernardo Silva has hit a purple patch as the Portuguese midfielder is currently enjoying a fine run of form and has become one of the untouchables in the City XI.
Silva has been linked with a move away from the club in recent times and this past summer, FC Barcelona were heavily linked with a swoop for the 27-year-old. Given the precarious financial situation of the Catalan giants, the move could not come to fruition.
Silva has been crucial for the team this season and is proving once again why City would lose a gem in him if they do decide to let him leave. Pep Guardiola in a recent interview admitted that the Cityzens would not stand in his way if a proper offer arrived for him but they do want him to stay.
"“We know how we want him, how we love him,”They have to be happy to be here to perform well. He is such an important player for us, he can play in four or five different positions and he is so intelligent, and intelligent players can play everywhere”I know there will be lows in this season because it’s impossible to maintain this level throughout the season but I encourage him to be like this because I am pretty sure that playing at this level he will be happier and happier and he will enjoy being here with us.”Source: MEN"
Raheem Sterling is in a similar place as Silva as the Englishman has been heavily linked with a loan-move to FC Barcelona this coming winter as he looks to get some minutes under his belt. Sterling also openly admitted that he would be open to a move away from Manchester City if it meant him getting more minutes under his belt.
Do you think Bernardo Silva could change his mind and cement his legacy at Manchester City or do you see him playing for another club?
