Manchester City still haven’t been able to land a marquee striker ever since Sergio Aguero left the club for FC Barcelona. Having said that, the Cityzens were very much interested in bringing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspurs but the North London club were stern on their stance of keeping their main man at the club for the ongoing season.

City will be in the market in January and possibly, next summer as well, as the defending Premier League champions look to end their hunt for a top-quality striker.

A sensational report coming in from Daily Mail understands that Sheikh Mansour has given Pep Guardiola the green light to pursue Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe next summer. Mbappe will be out of a contract next summer.

The Frenchman looks set to join Real Madrid next season but anything can happen and in the end, it could boil down to who presents with a better economical offer while submitting their sporting project.

Let’s face it. Mbappe will not be coming to City, even t

hough it is an unsaid dream of many  City fans. The 22-year-old is already among the best in the world and getting him for free could well end up being an absolute bargain for the Cityzens.

Mansour wants City to sign Mbappe ‘at any cost’ and it will be interesting to see how this would go. As it stands, Real Madrid do not have anything to worry about, when it comes to bringing Mbappe to the Bernabeu. If at all, the Cityzens’ financial might could trouble Madrid a bit.

The Cityzens are also said to be in the market for Erling Haaland, whose £77 million release clause becomes active next summer. The Cityzens are one of the favorites to sign Haaland from Borussia Dortmund and coincidentally, Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for the Norwegian striker and are one of the favorites to sign him.

Personally, I feel that Kylian Mbappe coming to Manchester City has astronomically low chances but the finances involved could have a part to play in persuading Mbappe to play under Pep Guardiola. However, I strongly feel that City’s chances of landing Haaland are decent, if not too high and it will be interesting to see who the Premier League champions decide to go after.
