Manchester City are still on the hunt for a striker as the defending Premier League champions look to replace their club legend and record goal-scorer, Sergio Aguero, who is now a part of FC Barcelona.

Manchester City failed in their pursuit of Harry Kane this past summer with Tottenham Hotspur holding a firm ground in not wanting to let their main man leave, even if it meant rejecting two massive bids from Man City, including a €150 million one. Having said that, Pep Guardiola has some options within the City ranks and which is why the lack of someone of Kane’s caliber at the club will not hurt him a lot.

Liam Delap is an exciting young prospect at Manchester City and is already touted as a future star in the Premier League. The City youth product has already featured once for City this season and made two appearances last term, notching up 3 goals and an assist.

With Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres currently doing the job of a number nine for Pep Guardiola, Delap is a backup and could get a handful number of opportunities, especially if either Jesus or Torres get injured.

Football Transfers understands that Delap is currently being circled by Stoke City and Borussia Dortmund. The source also reports that the latter even had a £15 million bid for Delap rejected this past summer.

Dortmund then wanted to replace Jadon Sancho, who successfully completed his move to Manchester United this summer.

With City looking to count on Delap in the future, the Cityzens could look to send him out on loan this winter, with a number of Championship sides looking to sign him on a temporary basis. Moreover, this could also boost the 18-year-old’s development.

Having made a mediocre start to this season, the Cityzens will be counting on their previous season’s record to bounce back.
