Manchester City have got a very good squad despite the Cityzens failing spectacularly in their summer-long pursuit of Harry Kane. The defending Premier League champions have got excellent cover everywhere and it will be interesting to see how they cope in this season.
City have already started planning for the future as Pep Guardiola is hell-bent on groomingFerran Torres and the former Barcelona manager played a serious gamble last season when he showed enormous faith in Phil Foden and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Cityzens have also secured the signing of the Argentine wonderkid, Dario Sarmiento.
Recent reports are now claiming that the Sky Blues have been offered the golden chance to sign Barca wonderkid, Ansu Fati. The 18-year-old will become a free agent next summer unless he signs a new extension with the former La Liga champions. Having said that, it is only expected that Fati will stay in Barcelona for years to come.
It is believed that Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent is trying to use City to pressure Barcelona into submitting a better offer.
Pep Guardiola though seems to have seen right through this trick and has apparently instructed Txiki Begiristain, the club’s Director of Football to not pursue Ansu Fati.
Perhaps Guardiola’s loyalty towards FC Barcelona and his good relationship with the current Blaugrana president, Joan Laporta persuaded him into making this decision.
Fati, 18, is regarded as one of the brighter talents in World Football and despite having recovered from a serious knee injury, Barcelona is in no hurry to launch the player again as they have shown enormous faith in him when they decided to bestow the infamous number 10 jersey, vacated by club legend Lionel Messi, upon him.
It is believed that Fati is also keen on staying at Barcelona and he along with Pedri are considered to be the heart of future Barcelona. Having said that, it is fair to say that it is unlikely that an agreement between Fati and Barcelona will not be reached in the coming days.
Fati’s contract renewal is considered to be on the high-priority list at Barcelona.
