According to a report from French news outlet Le10Sport, Manchester City are among a few elite European clubs monitoring Kingsley Coman’s situation at Bayern Munich.

Kingsley Coman, 25, has won virtually everything there’s to win in football since his move to Bayern Munich from Juventus in the summer of 2015. He has been one of the cornerstones of the Bavarian club’s success since arriving at the Allianz Arena, most notably scoring the winner in their 2019/20 Champions League final victory over his former club Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the France international is stalling on a new contract at Bayern Munich and would prefer joining a Premier League club, reports Le10Sport.

Coman has just two years remaining on his contract with the Bundesliga champions and having already plied his trade in the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, he dreams of playing in the Premier League, thereby, alerting both Manchester City and Liverpool, the report adds.

Back in 2015, Pep Guardiola was the manager of Bayern who brought in Coman from Juventus, and the player has already made more than 200 appearances and won six back-to-back Bundesliga titles, proving to be a great investment for the Bavarians. However, he is not entirely a regular starter for Bayern due to injuries and strong competition for places.

Having played in three of the ‘big five’ leagues in Europe, the French wide-man wants to test himself in the hustle and bustle of Premier League football and his contract at Bayern expiring in 2023 means he could be available for a much lower fee next year.

As for Manchester City, they aren’t in desperate need of another winger having broken the transfer record for Jack Grealish earlier this summer. Plus, in Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and Ferran Torres, there’s enough depth in the wide department.

Thus, the Sky Blues’ reported interest in signing Coman is a head-scratcher.
