After a first half largely centered around keeping City out, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners came out of their shell in the second half, creating some half chances and regularly pressing the City backline. In the end, however, City still managed to get the better chances of the two sides, with João Cancelo and Kevin De Bruyne putting shots just inches wide of the mark.

City also consolidated Liverpool’s Merseyside Derby defeat at Anfield to pull an incredible 19 points clear of the defending champions after 25 matches for both sides.

Arsenal put up a valiant fight, but on current form, City are simply unstoppable, and kept the result intact from yet another clean sheet courtesy of the John Stones-Rúben Dias partnership.
