Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are the two clubs that have been heavily linked with Lionel Messi ever since the 33-year-old told Barcelona about his decision to leave the club at the end of the last season. Since then, the rumors linking the Argentine with a move to either of the clubs have been relentless and needless to say, quite natural. The player’s future is still in the balance with the ace insisting that he will make a decision on his future only at the end of this season. Reporting an unexpected twist, Express understands that Messi is keen to embark on a new challenge and he believes he will find it in PSG.

Omar De Fonseca, a former PSG and Argentina striker believes that Messi is likely to join his former teammate and close friend in Neymar Jr., at PSG. The former player also reported that the 33-year-old’s family has started to learn French, further indicating that a move to Paris this summer may well be on the cards for the Argentine.

This week Barcelona presidential candidate, Joan Laporta criticized PSG for disrespecting Barcelona by making their interest in Lionel Messi public. The former club president believes that it is not a way to treat a club and its legend.

When Messi sent his burofax to Barcelona, he wanted a winning project and that’s when Manchester City entered the frame.

Messi’s working relationship with manager Pep Guardiola is well known as the duo scripted a majestic combination and will go down arguably as one of the best manager-player pairs in European football. Manchester City have looked solid this season and are now the league leaders in the Premier League. The Cityzens are a point ahead of rivals United with a game in hand.

The Sky Blues are slowly on the track to earn the title of favorites for this season’s UEFA Champions League.

With the season having crossed the halfway stage, do you think Lionel Messi will leave Barcelona? More importantly, if he does Barcelona, do you think the 33-year-old will snub Manchester City in favour of PSG?

Messi runs out of a contract at the end of this season, following which he will walk out as a free agent. That is of course, if he does decide to leave the Blaugrana.
