Manchester City have had many injury concerns this season and they continue to battle with them.

Pep Guardiola has addressed the press ahead of Manchester City’s home fixture against Crystal Palace on Sunday. The Spaniard revealed the current injury situation at the Etihad as three of the key Sky Blue players continue to sit out of action. As per Manchester City’s official website, Pep Guardiola has revealed that Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte, and Sergio Aguero will miss the game on Sunday.

The likes of Eric Garcia will be available for selection though he is tipped to leave for Barcelona this winter (pending an official offer from Barcelona) or Summer. The defender has agreed personal terms with Barcelona and will most likely join in the summer as a free agent. Coming to Manchester City, Sergio Aguero will miss the action on Sunday as he continues with his self-isolation following a close contact with a COVID-19 infected individual.

The first half of the season hasn’t been kind to Manchester City. The Cityzens saw some of their main players miss key matches and the list involves Sergio Aguero. Thankfully for the Sky Blues, the defence has been rock-solid for their cause as they are sitting on the third position in the Premier League table, just four points away from the league leaders and cross-town rivals in Manchester United, with a game in hand. Having said that, the former Barcelona boss admitted that despite playing at home, Crystal Palace cannot be taken lightly.

"“In my head and hopefully in the head of the players it is just Crystal Palace we are thinking about.] “In the last two seasons we were not able to beat them at home. Hopefully we can. Always, in the second half of the season when you are fighting for the title it is exciting. “A team like Palace knows exactly what they have to do.Source: Mancity.com"

Another issue for the Sky Blues is regarding the position of the left-back. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Benjamin Mendy haven’t really solidified their respective places in the XI owing to poor form (Zinchenko) and recurrent injuries coupled with poor form (Benjamin Mendy).

Even though the Cityzens are battling problems of their own, the former Premier League champions are unlikely to turn towards the winter market for new signings. However, the game on Sunday promises to be a cracker of a match and the Cityzens will be eyeing to close in on rivals United.
