The Defence
Claudio Bravo
I have reached a point where I am thinking there are potentially only a handful of games left for him to play for us. I do not want to be unkind about any Manchester City player, but his uncanny ability to concede each shot he faces does not inspire much confidence. Although the goal he conceded was largely an error by the defence in front of him, it contributed to his unenviable record of conceding the first shot on target he faces. Gets a 6 though for helping a child pitch invader escape Stewards. Guardiola confirmed post match that Bravo will be in goal for the Final.

Joao Cancelo
Played on the left like a right back being asked to play on the wrong side. Wrong footed and unable to launch any passes without stepping inside. Over committed and out of position a number of times. Mis hit passes and a failure to hold any defensive line. Made one good interception and tackle at speed to stop an attack. Was clean through once too and should have done much better.

Nicolas Otamendi
Given the task of anchoring the whole defence today and accordingly there was an air of chaos in every moment. His passing was off target and too many simple touches were waylaid, turning attack into panic. His rash lunge towards the end of the game could have been punished by a better team. Not a good game for our Argentinian General.

Rodri
Seemed to be playing between central defence and midfield and did neither very well. Left space and gaps all over. Failed to read attacks, was wrong footed and passed poorly. We have assembled a team of midgets and he stands amongst them like a giant, yet is unable to direct a header. I thought this was his worst game for us and he made Matic look like the best midfielder in the whole world.

Kyle Walker
Seemed unhappy and off the pace. Not involved enough and not using his power to move the ball. Instead we were treated to the interminable sideways passing and backwards.
