Manchester City came out of the blocks firing as they took a 4-0 halftime lead away to Aston Villa to move into second place in the Premier League with a 6-1 result.

Manchester City put on a scintillating display of football to pick up their ninth win in their last 10 in all competitions, this time against Premier League strugglers Aston Villa.

Riyad Mahrez put on the style, dribbling through the home side’s defense to grab the first before finding the back of the net just minutes later. It was all one-way traffic in the first half, with Sergio Agüero scoring from long range before a beautiful Kevin de Bruyne cross into Gabriel Jesus capped off a near-perfect performance for the Citizens. City would go on to add two more in the second half, with the match ending 6-1 on the day.
