Transfer Window: Midfielders and Strikers To target

Home Grown Talents
There has been a reluctance to bring in Championship players at Manchester City, leaving other clubs free rein to cherry pick the best talents. Whether that is a feeling of being burnt in the past by acquisitions like Patrick Roberts is not clear.
City should double down on their UK scouting and afford an opportunity to some young English players operating in the lower leagues.
There are 2 which we would recommend based on form. Dropping them into our side would give them an opportunity to really continue form under World Class coaches, and as home grown players they would be extras in the playing squad too.
Ollie Watkins
Is a 24 year old left winger currently playing for Brentford where he has so far this season played 25 games, scoring 15 times and adding 3 assists. This form has lead to close examination by a number of London based clubs.
Jarrod Bowen
Is a 23 year old English striker playing at Hull City where in 25 games he has scored 16 goals and achieved 5 assists. These impressive numbers have seen him linkwd to both Newcastle United and Aston Villa, both of whom are closing in on a rumoured £20 million deal.
City should steal a march on both by paying the same but loaning him back, in the hope that next Summer he can come to our squad for the season ahead.
Making a purchase of a young English player could also provoke significant interest and could become central to our rebuild.
