Ilkay Gundogan

He is undoutedly a class player but today gave the ball away a little and was generally a little off the pace of the game. Will need him to be back in song soon, as I suspect he will be starting against Everton.

Player Rating 6

Gabriel Jesus

Willing runner but not really on the pitch long enough to make much contribution. I suspect he will start against Everton though.

Phil Foden

Came on very late and injected some energy into the proceedings. Unlucky not to have scored but was brought down when through on goal. Needs to be starting games now.

Man of the Match

This was a solid and laboured performance as a whole, thanks in part to a combination of Sheffield United’s dogged persistence and our tiredness. Still, there were candidates for Man of the Match on display. Garcia did well and looked like our best defender. De Bruyne did his stuff and found the openings, but the constant threat was Mahrez. Consequently I felt he just shaded KDB and deserved the Man of the  Match accolade. Hopefully he will be able to do the same against Everton on Wednesday.
