With the decade coming to an end, Manchester City have had an unprecedented level of success, winning 250 Premier League games while capturing four league titles.

Manchester City have risen to new heights over the course of the last ten years which looks to be the foundation of success for years to come. As we look back on what’s been an incredible last ten years for the Citizens, here are the best who have featured at the Etihad across the previous decade.

Manager-Pep Guardiola: The Catalan has completely revolutionized the club and set the mold for the future, building on the success that Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini began to turn City into a consistent danger right at the top of English and European football.

Ederson (GK): While it’s a tough call between the Brazilian and club legend Joe Hart, Ederson is an excellent shot-stopper and the epitome of the Pep Guardiola era.

Pablo Zabaleta (RB): Zabaleta was a key figure at the back for the Blues during the early part of the decade and an absolute legend, making 230 appearances from 2008-2017.

Vincent Kompany (CB): The club’s eternal captain and the heart of this team, Kompany has been dearly missed this season after 11 seasons in Manchester. A rock in the heart of defense, he struggled with injuries but remained the club’s unquestioned leader and one of the best to put on the shirt.

Aymeric Laporte (CB): Another star defender who has been missed this year. Since arriving at the club from Athletic Bilbao, he has established himself as the team’s primary defender and a key piece moving forward.

Aleksandar Kolarov (LB): Kolarov may be the weakest inclusion on this list, but he was a key part of City’s earlier success and had a seven-year stint in Manchester.

Yaya Touré (CDM): This is where the list gets very competitive. While leaving out the likes of Fernandinho is difficult, Touré was easily one of City’s best players this decade and his 2014 campaign continues to stand out as one of the best in recent memory.

David Silva (CAM): Silva is in contention to be one of the Blues’ best ever players. The Spanish magician has amazed us all for the last decade, and it will be sad to see the current club captain depart at the end of the season.

Kevin de Bruyne (CAM): When fully fit and on form, the highest quality player to ever wear a sky blue shirt. Truly one of the best in the world, De Bruyne has only been at the club for half of this decade but still easily makes the list as a unique talent and a gift to watch.

Raheem Sterling (FWD): Since arriving from rivals Liverpool, Sterling has emerged to become one of the league’s best players under Guardiola’s tutelage and perhaps best summarizes his impact at the club.

Carlos Tevez (FWD): A move that truly put City on the map. In the early part of the decade, the Argentine was a deadly player and a big signing from rivals Manchester United that really began to show that City meant business.

Sergio Agüero (FWD): The Argentinian striker is City’s all-time leading goalscorer and arguably the greatest to ever play for the club. Despite looking like he would be replaced when Guardiola arrived, he reinvented himself to remain the primary attacking option in one of the most competitive teams in the world. A truly excellent decade for one of our generation’s best men up top.
