Two of the substitutes were not actually on the pitch long enough to rate their performances.

Rodrigo

Replaced Gundogan in the 79th minute and helped to see out the game. Looked assured when he came on and I expect he will play against Wolves.

Player Rating 6

Sergio Aguero

Introduced late on and it is good to see him back. Always takes him 2 or 3 games to get back sharp. Let us hope this counts as the first of those!

Phil Foden

Cameo appearance from the Stockport Iniesta.

Man of the Match

There are a couple of candidates. Riyad Mahrez marauded on the wing, showing his old team exactly what they were missing. Seemed fired up for the challenge and more displays like this would be welcome – he would be undroppable!

Yet for me the standout player was Kevin De Bruyne who ran the show. He set the tempo for the game and lead from the front, dragging team mates with him. Should be our Captain. Superb performance. Another assist. If he had scored he would have got a 10!
