Riyad Mahrez

Played like a man on a personal mission. Marauding display as he terrorised the England left back, Ben Chilwell, leaving him chasing shadows at times. Always offered options to his team mates and kept Leicester permanently stretched. Got some boos for kicking the ball out of play when a Leicester player feigned injury because they had not taken the opportunity to do that when they had possession. Otherwise this was maybe his best display for City.

Player Rating 9

Gabriel Jesus

Lots of running and movement but did not work himself into positions to strike home. Instead he served to create the space for others to flourish. It was great to see him eventually get the goal, with a finish that showcased his determination to get on the end of the ball. First goal at the Etihad aince January and that scoring record now needs to improve!

Player Rating 8

Raheem Sterling

Lots of neat passing and movement which caused Leicester all sorts of problems. It looked for long periods that we would find most joy from the left hand side, only for 2 goals to come from the right! His dribbling in the box caused panic in the Leicester defence and lead to being fouled for the penalty.
