Defense

Claudio Bravo (GK): Looked out of position on the first goal, had several frightening moments with the ball at his feet, and was caught in two worlds when going for the third. A solid cup goalkeeper, but nothing near what City require for their standards of success week-in, week-out. (3.5)

Kyle Walker (RB): Both of the first two goals came down his side and he misjudged the ball into Sadio Mané for the third. Another poor performance in a big match after some stellar form last week. (4.5)

John Stones (CB): Uncomfortable in possession, beaten by Mané on the first goal, Stones’ confidence has been out the window since he was dropped for an aging Vincent Kompany at the end of last season. Combined with a horrid summer for England at the Nations League and an awful start to 2019/20, he doesn’t look half the player City signed him to be. (5)

Fernandinho (CB): In Aymeric Laporte’s absence, has established himself along with Rodri as City’s best central defenders (both are midfielders!!). Looks by far a comfortable passer playing out of the back, although today’s match was always going to be a difficult task defensively. (7)

Angeliño (LB): Struggled for consistency, and should have done better on closing down Henderson before the cross for the third goal. However, going forward, he looks like he belongs at this level and delivered the assist for Bernardo Silva’s goal. (6.5)
