Fernandinho

Stepping into the defence part way through a game takes some skill and experience. But to do that when it was not your natural position and then make it seem as you had always played there, is special. He made a headed clearance and then dealt with almost every headed ball. As a centre back pairing with Otamendi it will never be short of excitement.

Player Rating 8

Ilkay Gundogan

Came on for De Bruyne and then suffered a little bit for not being De Bruyne. Had one marvellous chance to score after a great run but just could not get his feet released from under him in time to make the flick at goal.

Player Rating 7

Bernardo Silva

Scored within seconds of coming on and looked hungry and keen from the off. His running was needed as other legs tired. Will get his chance in the coming weeks.

Man of the Match

Sergio Aguero gave one of those performances today which should probably be used as a training video for any aspiring goal scorers. His movement and finishing was top notch and I read a statistic that he has actually scored with his last 6 shots on target.

Aguero may be in the best scoring patch of his career – but it is his general contribution to the play which is the best thing to see. He is so involved and such a key player for us on the pitch.

Man City Square have no doubt Aguero deserves the accolades for his showing today on the pitch with an assist and 2 goals, one of which was as good as we have seen at the Etihad.
