David Silva

We have reached a curious point in the career of Silva where it felt like a mistake to bring him on in a key game. Sure, start him from the off but he offered a safe pair of hands rather than inspiration to overcome our profligacy in front of goal.

Player Rating 6

Riyad Mahrez

At the risk of upsetting our Algerian readers I have struggled to understand his contribution which apperaed to be some step overs and then repeatedly losing the ball. Not likely to dislodge Bernardo on this showing.

Player Rating 6

Gabriel Jesus

Fired up and full of running. Wrongly denied a goal for the second week running and then caught up in an amusing spat with Sanchez which involved some chest barging. Deserves a run in the team based on his recent showing.

This was a game of high intensity which felt like it had come just a week or so too early for us. Despite that we attacked with gusto and were unlucky not to seal all three points. Seldom have there ever been draws which were so one sided. Our standout performer – at least for the first 70 minutes when we looked most dangerous was Kevin De Bruyne. His two assists put us into a lead twice and should have sealed this match.
