The 2018/19 season is coming to a close and Manchester City are still firmly in the hunt for the Premier League Title, but in addition to that there are a number of other records we may be in a position to break.

In the Premier League each year the highest scorer is awarded the “Golden Boot”. This season Mo Salah at Liverpool is the current front runner with 22 Premier League goals. However, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero is still very much in the hunt with 20 goals to his name.Given Aguero still has two games to play there is the very real possibility he will be able to close the gap on Salah. Given Sergio has also hit the woodwork a total of 7 times, he is unlucky not to have been far out in front of the goal chart this year!

Sergio is currently 6th in the Premier League All Time Scoring Charts with 163 goals. In 5th place sits Thierry Henry with 175 goals, so Sergio has some way to go to move higher up this chart, although it should be noted he is likely to reach that milestone next year. He is unlikely to reach the summit of that Chart which is occupied by Alan Shearer with 260 goals.

Manchester City have scored more goals so far than any other Premier League team with 90 to date with Liverpool just behind on 87.

At the other end of the field, the goalkeeper who achieves the highest number of clean sheets is awarded the “Golden Glove”. Right now the Liverpool keeper Alisson is leading this award with a total of 20 clean sheets to his name. Yet our own super cool Ederson is just behind him with 19 clean sheets so far. Given we have two games to go our Ederson has a very real chance to at least equal the tally racked up by Alisson.

In terms of Assists, a clear feature of our City team has been the way our team performs, which tends to mean no one player racks up many assists and instead they are shared out. Accordingly Eden Hazard is way out in front of this award with 15 assists so far, but Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling are both sat on 10 – and it is not inconceivable that they could catch up.

City under Guardiola, have paved the way as a passing side so it is not a surprise that we have made more passes than anyone else this season – with 25149. Chelsea are our nearest challengers with 24540.

Individual performances within the passing statistics are of note. Jorginho has completed the most passes so far in the League with 2995, but Aymeric Laporte is not far behind with 2797 with two games to go.
