Fernandinho

Came on a little like a man possessed when he replaced Kevin De Bruyne but still we struggled to deal with the second balls and maintain control of the game. Did well to resist the temptation to wreak vengeance on Spurs in relation to their handball VAR goal in mid week. Great control by Fernandinho to remain on the pitch especially after some poor refereeing by Micheal Oliver who seemed to be doing his best to prove the anti City conspiracy theorists were right!

Player Rating 7

Leroy Sane

It was good to hear the crowd chanting his name as he warmed up given the reported ongoing difficulties with his contract situation which appear to be limiting his game time. Seems like he needs a run of games as today was all about some fine margins. Still his movement was good even if he was not found in the space he had created.

Player Rating 7

David Silva

Replaced Phil Foden and it was clear this was all about adding game management experience to the final 8 minutes of the match. Although I am not sure this worked that well but Foden had run out of all energy and deserved the opportunity to receive an ovation from the crowd in respect of his performance.

Man of the Match

A few candidates but this is going to Bernardo Silva who gave a brilliant example of tireless wing play where he jinked and danced through challenges and kept searching for that all important break through. A real candidate for our player of the season.
