Raheem Sterling is a World Class Talent

Any of us Manchester City fans who have sat and watched as Raheem has developed from the player we signed for £50 million from Liverpool in 2015 will be delighted at the sheer level of progress he has shown. He now sits genuinely as one of the brightest and most deadly talents in World football and has achieved this whilst winning honours and plaudits for his actions both on and off the pitch.

Raheem has gone from being the boo boy of the inane Liverpool fans to being considered as a player coveted by the very best sides in the game. He has sustained his performance level from last season to reinforce his value to any attacking side. His statistics are quite simply astounding.

So far this season he has made 44 appearances and scored 21 goals and achieved 16 assists. That is a remarkable return of 0.66 goals per game and 0.35 assists per game. In our award winning Centurions season of 2017/18 he played 55 games, scoring 23 times and assisting 14. His rate of goal contribution has actually increased in each of the seasons he has been with us.

Raheem has really forged a reputation as a big game player – in the Premier League alone this season he has 29 appearances, 17 goals and 11 assists. A total of 28 goal involvements in 29 games! The stage is now set for him to really nail down the Player of the Season award with the last few remaining games. In recent memory it is hard to think of a more deserving winner for an individual award.
