With the NBA Playoffs starting this weekend, who should Manchester City fans look to for a rooting interest?

The NBA Playoffs are finally upon us!

Starting this Saturday, 16 of the best teams on the planet will duel it out to decide who will be the next world champion.

For Manchester City fans, particularly those in the U.K., finding a team to root for in an overseas league can be a bit of a daunting task. I can relate! I went through the same difficult process to find a club football side to root for after I fell love with the beautiful game during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

To help, I’ve developed a guide to assist those City fans interested in following the NBA from abroad, but who are unsure of who to follow. This article details two teams from each conference who may appeal to a City fan’s sympathies.

When crafting this guide, I’ve taken several factors into consideration: a team’s past, recent success, style of play, coaching and management, standout players, and entertainment factor. Many of these factors were things I looked at when searching for a club side to root for.

You can find the entire NBA playoff bracket here.

Let’s start by taking a look at two teams who have a chance to make some noise, but aren’t considered the outright favorites in their respective conferences.
