Tottenham 1 Manchester City 0 : Player Ratings and Man of the Match
By David Crook
Man City Square have reviewed the Manchester City player performances in the narrow defeat against Spurs in the Champions League Quarter Final First Leg and have tried to select a Man of the Match, which was harder than we anticipated.
The Defence
Ederson
Pulled off a good save and made some great quick distributions to keep the ball moving. Was flattened in a collision with Otamendi and fell awkwardly on his hip and never looked comfortable after this. We need to hope he will be fit to play again at Crystal Palace. It was after this injury he struggled to save the shot from Son which was their goal.

Kyle Walker
Must be nice to go back to your old club and to hear the boos! I thought Walker did ok in this match despite some close attention. My only real criticism was that he seemed intent on getting at least one free kick so threw himself to the floor at every opportunity.
Player Rating 7
Nicolas Otamendi
Coped well with the aerial bombardment and rough play. Clattered into challenges and for one 10 minute period in the first half, he looked like a red card waiting to happen. But he rode the game out and looked pretty assured.

Aymeric Laporte
Somehow got booked for lightly brushing past an opponent. Was tidy and controlled but was harried throughout which disrupted some of his expected levels of distribution out from the back. I think it did not help him having Delph on the left as it required him to cover more.

Fabian Delph
First game back after injury and it was a big one. Was caught out of position and short in the pass a number of times. Did not link up well with Raheem Sterling which limited some of our outlet. Mistook aggression for commitment on occasion. On the rough end of a bad challenge from Kane which saw him injured and the fans needlessly booing Delph.
