Manchester City 2 Cardiff City 0 : Player Ratings and Man of the Match
By David Crook
Man City Square have now had chance to review the Manchester City Player Performances in the game against Cardiff in the Premier League, a game which we dominated, and have tried to pick a Man of the Match despite there being a number of stand out candidates.
The Defence
Ederson
This was one of those games where the opposition hardly pressed so Ederson was not able to really demonstrate his ice cool passing under pressure. Instead he simply had to bide his time and keep his concentration throughout the match. He had so much spare time he could have learnt a new language. But then right near the end he was called into action and made a save to protect the clean sheet.

Danilo
Unusually we got to see Danilo in action down both flanks during the same match. Starting on the right, and looking confident and assured he then had to switch to the left to replace the injured Zinchenko. On the left he also looked solid and it was his surging runs into the penalty area which threatened to add to the scoring.

John Stones
Great to see Stones back on the pitch and making a classy contribution. He looked solid and comfortable throughout the game and even popped up in the opposition penalty area a couple of times.
Player Rating 7
Aymeric Laporte
An improved display. He dealt well with the threats posed by Cardiff and controlled any attempted aerial balls well. Good to see him back with Stones in our most accomplished pairing.

Oleks Zinchenko
Started well and it was a real shame he went off early with what appeared to be a ham string injury.
