Manchester City player performances in the Premier League victory away to Fulham have been rated and Man City Square select their Man of The Match.
The Defence

Ederson
Not a game where our super sweeper keeper had that much to show off in. There was a debate on Twitter about whether or not he was playing in his £650 Gucci slippers, given his posting on Instagram the day before. For large parts of the game he may as well have been wearing slippers.

Kyle Walker
Thundered around and generally looked busy. Had a shot on goal but so did everyone except Ederson. His recent performances have been much improved but surely due a rest against Cardiff.

Nicolas Otamendi
This was one of those games for Nico where not much seemed to come off. He had a shot at goal which would have kept any kids hanging around in the car park busy. Back in the seventies there were always kids hanging around outside the ground hoping a ball would be kicked out of the ground. Do kids still do that?

Aymeric Laporte
This was a game where he seemed a little rusty and somewhat reserved, of course there were moments where he looked like usual Laporte but there was a slackness around we do not normally experience. It was almost as though the two weeks he had playing with Brahim Diaz during the International break in Madrid had not prepared him for the return to action.

Oleks Zinchenko
We have reached that point where having Zinchenko at left back seems reassuring. We are all accepting that he is our best left back at the moment and we forgive his occasional lack of correct positioning. To be fair to Oleks this is a consequence of Guardiola’s play – his full backs can be exposed and therefore Zinky always looks best when Laporte is alongside. Some good passing.
