Manchester City 3 Arsenal 1 : Player Ratings
By David Crook
Man City Square reviews the Manchester City player performances in the 3:1 Premier League Victory against Arsenal and selects a Man of the Match who may not be the biggest surprise!
Ederson
Seems to have recovered well from injury at Newcastle. Was called into play once as a sweeper and cleared the ball into Row Z. I was left with the lingering impression that he could have done more with the goal which Arsenal scored.
Player Rating 7
Kyle Walker
A much improved display from Kyle who maintained good concentration even though the tactical requirements curtailed his forward attacking play.
Player Rating 7
Nicolas Otamendi
Solid when he needed to be and linked up well with Fernandinho to create space for others. We will miss him when he is gone.

Aymeric Laporte
Another excellent display as Laporte proves to be something of a Rolls Royce player. In addition to his great defensive play he robbed Iwobi on the edge of the penalty area and whipped in a brilliant cross for the first goal gaining an assist.
Player Rating 8
Fernandinho
Classy and composed as he glided between positions in the team with ease. How to replace him will be a huge decision for Guardiola in the close season.
Player Rating 8
Ilkay Gundogan
Some good intricate play and some good ball recovery from our most improved player since Christmas.
Player Rating 8
David Silva
Linked so well in the midfield and it is his short passing which has the ability to release our attack at speed.
Player Rating 8
Kevin De Bruyne
Nearly back to his best. Every game he gains a yard.
Player Rating 8
Bernardo Silva
So busy scampering around. In the 93rd minute he was as quick as he was in the 1st. Great player.
Player Rating 8
Raheem Sterling
Two assists today in a menacing display where he caused problems for Arsenal with his directness throughout.
Player Rating 9
Sergio Aguero
A hard working display by Sergio who scored a hat trick. His positional play and energy were a joy to watch. Deserved all the applause when he was substituted.

Man City Square Man of the Match
This was a consummate professional display by a forward at the top of their game. This was his 14th hat trick for City and 10th in the Premier League. The match ball and the plaudits belong to Sergio Aguero.
