Man City Square reviews the player performances in the Manchester City win against Liverpool in the Premier League and tries hard to select a single Man of the Match

Ederson

Good performance by the best Brazilian goal keeper on the pitch today. Assured in his distribution and made some fine stops when called upon.

Player Rating 9

Danilo

Looking better with each game. This was his best performance in a City shirt. He was more defensively minded than Walker would would have been.

Player Rating 9

John Stones

Good solid display. One game saving goal line clearance too.

More from Game Review

Vincent Kompany

Great performance by our club captain who flattened Salah and then insulted him too. Genius.

Player Rating 9

Aymeric Laporte

Played out of position in a master stroke by Pep which completely nullified Salah on the right wing. Looking like an absolute snip last January.

Player Rating 10

Fernandinho

This was probably a master class. He delivered a pitch perfect performance of sustained quality which was so good I can not think of another display which I have ever seen in defensive midfield which has come close.

Player Rating 10

Bernardo Silva

He ran and harried, turned the play and covered across and up and down the pitch. Covered some 13 km tonight in an incredible display. Even won headers against Virgil Van Dyke.

Player Rating 10

David Silva

Measured record appearance by Silva. He slinked around, seldom losing the ball and covering the left hand side. It was a shame we saw little of the link up play we have come to expect when he starts alongside Sane.

Player Rating 9

Leroy Sane

Worked hard throughout. Caught out for the equaliser but took his chance brilliantly.

Player Rating 9

Sergio Aguero

Great number 9 display from the best striker in the league. Quite how he scored his goal I do not know.

Player Rating 9

Raheem Sterling

Kept Robertson occupied for most of the game. Had a chance or two to make the result safe which he wasted.

Player Rating 9

Substitutes

Ilkay Gundogan

Came on for Silva and did not cause any noticeable drop in our performance levels.

Player Rating 8

Nicolas Otamendi

Hardly enough time to register.

Player Rating 7

Kyle Walker

Barely on the pitch long enough to make any impact.

Man City Square Man of the Match

There were several brilliant Manchester City performances today and it has been difficult to select, but I am going for the master class defensive midfielder.
