Manchester City 2 Crystal Palace 3 Player Ratings
By David Crook
Man City Square review the Manchester City player performances and select a Man of the Match in the game against Crystal Palace.
Ederson
Could not be blamed for the goals but still had the time to have a rush of blood to the head and commit what looked like another penalty just when we were trying to get back on equal terms.
Player Rating 6
Kyle Walker
As poor a display as you are likely to see. Nothing went right for him. In need of some rest.
Player Rating 4
Nicolas Otamendi
Exposed and looking out of sorts. This was a return to the Otamendi of old. Maybe the consistency of being a regular starter is needed both to hone his skills and tweak his confidence.
Player Rating 5
Aymeric Laporte
We missed his trademark distribution and he was left open by Delph on a number of occasions.

Fabian Delph
Captain for the day and gets a 7 for his assist in the first half and his general effort.
Player Rating 7
John Stones
Not a defensive midfielder. Does not rotate the play. Still receives the ball with his back to opposition goal. Too slow and ponderous which when combined with Gundogan is almost sleep inducing.
Player Rating 5
Bernardo Silva
Ineffectual and careless on the ball. Bottled the challenge which gifted them the goal.
Player Rating 6
Ilkay Gundogan
Too slow but took his header well.
Player Rating 6
Leroy Sane
Dis not get to grips with the marking.
Player Rating 6
Raheem Sterling
Looked our most dangerous player and it was a surprise he was withdrawn at the 60 minute mark.
Player Rating 6
Gabriel Jesus
No improvement today.
Player Rating 5

Ineffectual.

Man City Square Man of The Match
This was a poor City display, more reminiscent of the last season under Pellegrini. There were few moments of any real note, but in the 30 minutes he had on the field, De Bruyne looked classy. His goal came just as the Palace fans were signing “Where’s Kevin De Bruyne?”.
