Manchester City v Bournemouth Player Ratings
By David Crook
ManCitySquare review the recent game Manchester City game against Bournemouth and award player ratings and a Man of the Match award.
Ederson
One of those games where he had little to do. Could do little about the goal and the threat posed by Bournemouth ensured he was not bored.
Player Rating 7
Zinchenko
Posed an attacking threat but still has a tendency to occupy the same channel as Sane, restricting his space. Defensively his positioning was poor on a number of occasions.
Player Rating 6
Aymeric Laporte
Another customary solid performance from Laporte who was able to read the game well and his passing and interplay with Otamendi looked assured and confident.
Player Rating 8
Nicolas Otamendi
It is to his credit that he can be absent from the team for several games and can return and fit in, looking like he has never been away. Could have done better in the run up to the goal we conceded.
Player Rating 7

Danilo
The problem with Danilo is he is not Kyle Walker. That seems an unfair criticism but Danilo does not pose the same attacking threat. The goal we conceded came from Danilo being caught out of position and hesitating.
Player Rating 7
Fernandinho
Another customary solid performance, but looking tired.
Player Rating 7
Ilkay Gundogan
He popped up to take his goal well but his contributions elsewhere were laboured and slightly off the pace. Will benefit from more game time to bring his level back up.
Player Rating 7
Bernardo Silva
It was great to see Bernardo back but he gave the ball away on a couple of occasions and looked rusty against his normal high standards. Didn’t mess about with his goal.
Player Rating 7
Leroy Sane
A terrific marauding performance from our best player.
Player Rating 9
Raheem Sterling
Sterling continued his fantastic run of form. Another goal. It was a close call between him and Sane for Man of the Match.
Player Rating 9
Gabriel Jesus
Worryingly absent from most of the play. Made no or little impact.
Player Rating 6

Fabian Delph

Riyad Mahrez

ManCitySquare Man of the Match
This was a standout performance from Leroy Sane and he tormented Bournemouth throughout. A deserved Man of the Match.
