After Saturday’s match between Manchester City and West Ham we caught up with @adamsmiiith editor of Green St  Hammers to discuss the match

ManCitySquare: Before the game yesterday you predicted, or hoped for, a 2:2 draw. Are you disappointed after the game with the result?

GreenStHammers: I am disappointed because West Ham lost, overall, however I am not disappointed in how my team played. I felt that Masuaku let down the team on the first three goals which can all (in part) be hung on him. Other than that, West Ham continued to attack all match long and that’s all you can ask for.

I thought there were some good performances from West Ham players and that you attempted to take the game to us. You played better than Man Utd did. Who do you think your best player was?

I think our best player was Declan Rice. It’s beginning to be a trend, but Rice shows maturity beyond his years, constantly was putting in tackles, won a fair share of those, and helped transition West Ham from defending to attacking. Michail Antonio also had his best game of the season for us today.

More from Game Review

I thought your high press was very brave and requires a lot of coordination and precision, which wasn’t always there. It leaves you open if we break the press, and we are pretty good at breaking the press. What did you think of your approach?

This isn’t the first game that West Ham have put the high press into action, and it’s becoming our regular attacking style. I thought Aaron Cresswell coming on for Masuaku made this more difficult for City to counter attack through. The high press is going to be West Ham’s way forward out of the basement of the league.

I think Declan Rice may look quite nice in our squad if he is coached by Guardiola. Is there any (other) player of ours you would like to see in West Ham colours?

HANDS OFF DECLAN. All sources are saying that come January West Ham will have Rice locked down long term. As for your team, just about anybody would be nice. Zinchenko may actually be the best fit with our LB position looking more than shakey right now.

Where do you think our respective teams will finish at the end of the season?

I think City is going to win the league and slowly pull away from any Liverpool pressure. There is too much talent and too much depth on that roster to not dominate the league and beyond. As for West Ham, I think we’ll end up 8th. It would be an improvement from last year and will be a building block for next year. Onwards and upwards under Pellegrini!
