Aguero Cemented his Place in Manchester City History Back in 2012

That was the moment every City fan seems to remember, that Agueroooo goal, which was ground zero of the City ambitions. The very moment we had arrived with aplomb, carving out not just a piece of the past but setting a new record moment – the best goal ever in the Premier League. This was a brash, new Manchester City and the future was at our feet.

Fast forward 6 long years and Aguero remains at Manchester City as the star striker. A clinical and lethal finisher who has terrorised defences since joining from Athletico Madrid back in 2011. Aguero is now 30 years old and in some kind of strange exile from the Argentina National football team, meaning all of his on field focus is for Manchester City. Right at the very height of his powers as a professional footballer at 30 years of age, he can concentrate just on us.

This is a player who despite having never made any Premier League team of the Year from any of the pundits or the PFA has delivered some of the most impressive goal statistics of all time. In 2018/19 season Aguero has played 15 games in all competitions and has achieved 11 goals and 3 assists! That is 14 goal involvements in 15 games and that is absolutely blistering form which is why he is sitting at the top of the Premier League Scorers table so far.

The statistics from his career to date are also incredibly impressive. In 573 appearances he 328 goals and 107 assists. That amounts to a goal involvement every 1.3 games across his whole career. At Manchester City the results are even better. In 307 appearances he has 210 goals and 61 assists. That is a death defying goal involvement every 1.13 games.

In the Premier League Aguero has scored 151 goals and amassed 45 assists! His statistics are simply stunning and puts Aguero right up there with the best strikers ever to have featured in the Premier League.

In recent years there have been concerns about the attitude of Aguero and whether he would fit within the demands placed upon strikers by Guardiola and his system of passing. He seems to have come through this and is playing arguably the best football in his career.

Having recovered from a knee operation in the Summer, and despite being pictured eating Rainbow Burgers in Los Angeles with 4 mystery brunettes and the occasional car crash in Amsterdam, Aguero seems to have grasped the opportunity to be the player Guardiola needs.
