Liverpool

Fixtures

Hudds Away

Cardiff Home

Arsenal Away

Fulham Home

Watford Away

Everton Home

Burnley Away

Bournemouth Away

This is a relatively straightforward run of fixtures for any team with professed title ambitions. It is precisely against these lower ranked clubs that the title will be won in my opinion, and peversely it is in these kind of games where Liverpool have laboured most. Only Arsenal away would fill Klopp with any kind of anxiety, and to be frank I expect Liverpool to win that game. But I feel they will drop points in this group of fixtures – even without the distraction of a Carabao Cup run. There will be a procession of teams who will sit deep against Liverpool and against whom they will be unable to press. How they cope against these kind of teams without Coutinho to unlock the defence will be a feature of the season. Will raw power and aggressive alone allow them a way through? The Liverpool squad, whilst improved , still lacks depth in key positions leaving them fragile to injuries within this run of games.
