What will happen in the next 8 games?

Well so far so good for Manchester City. Going into the International break at the top of the Premier League Table with their best player being readied to start the season – as Kevin de Bruyne returns from injury. If someone had offered that combination to me back in August I would have snapped their hand off.

My prediction before the season started was that most of the Top 6 were capable of taking points off each other so the title would probably be won by whoever did best against mid table and lower table sides. Which side is best equipped to steal results through packed defences will probably account for the title winners by season end. But right now we are about to start a busy period of 8 fixtures where there are a number of testing games for the topsides. Who will ride out these next 8 league games out as leaders?

Let us turn to look at the fixtures for each of the top sides in turn and predict the likely results before considering our anticipated table.
