Pictures have emerged of Manchester City’s first team squad boarding the train today to head to London ahead of City’s match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The pictures confirm which players have made the travelling squad and who has been left out.

Currently Guardiola has a first team squad of around 28 players. He has said in the past such a squad size is too big as it is impossible to keep all the players happy.

Pep has indicated he would prefer 24/25 players with his first team and therefore speculation continues as to which players may be sold or loaned out for experience.

Although the transfer window is closed for incoming transfers to the Premier League it remains open in Serie A until 17 August and until 31 August in all other European leagues.

Rumours continue to mount suggesting Jason Denayer is wanted by Torino and Galatasaray, Patrick Roberts is wanted by Girona and Brahim Diaz is desired by several Spanish sides. Denayer and Roberts have both been snapped in the travelling squad for the Arsenal game although Diaz has not.

Zinchenko was a subject of interest from Wolves in the transfer window and he has not travelled with the team. This may be because there is further interest in Zinchenko from another team.

Two other players have also not travelled with the squad and both of these are a surprise although at this stage the reasons for them being missing are not clear. Fabian Delph has not made the trip to London.

He has certainly featured in the week in training. David Silva has also not travelled. Silva has been nursing a small undefined injury since the World Cup and did not feature in the Community Shield.

The travelling side contains most of the first team squad including the recently returned Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, although both of these players have been back in training for less than 5 days.

Predicted side to play Arsenal

Formation: 4-3-3

Goalkeeper: Ederson

Defenders: Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy
