The biggest disappointment for me in the tournament and would had been lower down the list if he didn’t feature in every game.

I had faith in Gabby J and even put some small change on him to be the Golden Boot winner. How wrong was I, so wrong that he never actually found the back of the net.

The forward gave little in all the games and he failed to stretch the defence similar to Raheem Sterling in an England jersey. It was left to former Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho to shine and Neymar to give the odd glimpse of stardom when he dusted himself down from his Oscar-winning performance.

Managed only one shot on goal and found the woodwork with another, the former Palmeiras youngster will be ultimately disappointed with his and the team’s campaign.

The only plus was that he angered Liverpool fans as he was one keeping Roberto Firminho on the bench.
