The new manager and a busy summer of recruitment. However it remains to be seen whether this new team has the resilience and strength necessary to seriously mount a challenge in a difficult league.

Some of the purchases seem lightweight which considering the squad seems short on top level quality appears risky. The addition of Lucas Torreira’s and his performances in the World Cup have given fans some hope in a position that they have desired ever since the glory days.

I think the start made by Arsenal will be critical to their overall season. There is a lot of hope around the Emirates following the departure of Wenger but I suspect that hope may be quite brittle.

A poor run of results from the off may be difficult for Emery to recover from with a relatively inexperienced side but of course there is the possibility a good run in the opening eight fixtures makes Arsenal definite title contenders.

I expect the former may be more likely given early games against City, Chelsea away and West Ham with tricky away games at Cardiff, Fulham and Newcastle.

Its my gut feeling Arsenal Fan TV may still be worth watching next season and Arsenal will probably finish those first eight games in 6th or lower. Of course they could still buy Paulo Dybala.
