Fabian Delph

The midfielder was the one who raised the most eyebrows when selected in the 23-man squad, however, has put himself in with a good chance of featuring in deep midfield position come tomorrow.

His performance in the friendly against Costa Rica done himself no harm as his partnership with Jordan Henderson allowed the attacking midfielders to press forward and with a sense of freedom. Unlikely to partner Eric Dier should he start though, as Delph doesn’t possess the passing qualities of Henderson to unlock defences and the team will come too defensive with the two positioning themselves in front of the defence.

Won’t be surprised if he features in the Belgium fixture as he is likely to contain the threat from Eden Hazard and Dries Mertens in wider areas and could do a job on club teammate Kevin De Bruyne.
