There are players currently in the squad that are likely to be leaving Manchester City this season as Pep Guardiola looks to trim his roster for the new season.

Pablo Maffeo and Angeliño have already been sold to European clubs with Olarenwaju Kayode moving to Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk recently.

The manager is getting his squad into shape for next season with a wealth of targets reportedly close to joining.

There are many reasons why the squad has to let go some of their well-known and back-up players, with Financial Fair Play (FFP), squad registration and the signing of improving players all factors that come into play when finalising the squad.

The champions had already confirmed the list of players in early June who will not be offered a new contract and featuring at the Etihad Stadium next year.

Yaya Toure was the only first-team player to leave at the end of his contract, with the Ivorian leaving a parting shout against his former manager.

Reserve team goalkeeper, Pawel Soko, has left, while Marcus Wood, Erik Sarmiento, Will Patching, Demeaco Duhaney, and midfielder Sadou Diallo have headed towards the exit.

Soko has returned to Poland with his former club, while Patching will be enjoying League Two football at Notts County next season.

Although still contracted, Man City Square will be looking at five players who could be sold this summer.
